This is my second or third opportunity to cover the event for the Charity.

My gratitude to Josh Heinz for letting me be of service and get some shots again!

This set includes shots from Mighty Jack, Blasting Echo, Courtney Chambers, Mike Pagan, Throw the Goat, Bridger and others.

Mighty Jack was excellent and they also played “Refugee” – a tribute to the late Tom Petty, who passed away last week.

Blasting Echo, Josh Heinz’s band, has some great songs and great hooks. Josh started this benefit concert in a local bar ten years ago, and they passed the hat around to raise money.

Now the benefit features dozens of bands over two days, silent auctions, raffles as well as donations from a wide variety of organizations and businesses in the Coachella Valley.

Mike Pagan evokes memories of Elvis Costello’s early day with a tinge of Elvis Presely – a hard combo to pull off but he does it well.

Throw the Goat’s hard hitting sound rocked the house and got everyone up and dancing.

Bridger’s set was but a bit short due to the curfew at midnight, but they managed to get a few new songs and some classics. Bridger always brings me back to my early days in NYC in the late 70’s where I got to see many bands who are considered the roots of punk rock.

See you all there tonight!!
